As of today the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 504 588 with 792 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 907 857 with 15 342 new tests recorded since the last report.
Deaths and Recoveries
Regrettably, a further 97 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 7, Free State 30, Gauteng 15, Kwa-Zulu Natal 8, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 7, North West 0, Northern Cape 8 and Western Cape 22 which brings the total to 49 150 deaths
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 413 566, representing a recovery rate of 93,9%
Vaccination Rollout
The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 23 059 as of 6 pm 22 February 2021.
