Health Deputy Minister to conduct community engagement outreach
Pretoria: The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo will, tomorrow (Monday) join hands with various leaders including the Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga and Inkosi Kethokuhle Zondi of Mpumuza Traditional Council to raise awareness about social ills affecting the communities, especially young people in uMgungundlovu, KwaZulu-Natal.
This collaborative event between government and traditional council will be held under the banner of Thandimpilo Health Programme initiated by the local traditional leaders to encourage community members to visit health facilities for regular health screening and testing in line with the government’s vision of a long and healthy life for all South Africans.
The leaders will be joined by amongst others, the Executive Mayor of uMgungundlovu District Municipality, Cllr Mzi Zuma and also address issues of gender based violence, through Ngindoda Mina programme, which contribute to high crime rates in the area.
